Most friendships come with an expiration date. Not written anywhere, but everybody knows it’s there. College friends, work friends, neighborhood friends — real while they last, built on proximity, gone the moment the proximity ends. That expiration date isn’t a tragedy. It’s just proof the friendship was circumstantial to begin with.
That’s not sad. That’s just honest.

No performance. No catching up on highlights. Just picking up right where you left off, even after months of silence.
